I use custom image path in order to use a CDN.
It works very well by simply changing the default path to something like "http://cdn.domain.com/forum/images/buttons"...

I upgraded to 4.1.0pl2.
same results...then I discovered an error in the FB application settings. The URL patch was the path to the forum instead of the site root.

Problem solved.

Yes, openSSL is a apache (Or whatever your server platform is) module and is provided by whoever maintains your web server.
