'&&' and 'AND' must NOT repeat NOT be considered interchangeable. This misunderstanding is the source of many a coding error....

I would try editing the template to make it not clickable. That is, take out the <a href=...> and </a>.

I took a different approach to solving the same problem. I edited the template to make the "latest post" text not clickable, and removed the "go to last post" link in that same spot....
