Making User Profiles Private from Unregistered Users

When someone's birthday is announced via this module, I notice that the person's age is included in parentheses. Is it possible to turn this off globally? It's probably not something that they want to...

No... I type the 2-letter username in the box, but nothing happens. If I try to start typing in a different username (3 or more characters) then the full name appears and I can then select that user....
