Slow - Deleting Threads

I have about 13,000 members and 300,000 posts.
Does the size of my database make deleting threads extremely slow, or would it be some other reason?

In a thread containing 7 posts,...

I lowered it to 25 per, and tried it.

Has it been determined that Burning Board is a hacked vBulletin or just similiar in layout/design ?...

Could it be related to your magic_quotes settings?
Works fine on mine, so far.

Emptied the Search Index as recommended in the admin.
Re-Indexing began and I assume that mysql overloaded the server at some point during reindexing. Everything froze and rebooted.

Can the searchindex be rebuilt without placing so much load on the server ? Everytime I attempt to rebuild the searchindex it freezes after about 4,000 threads and shuts down my server.
