It could be that the proxy site is causing the page to be reloaded multiple times. I would suggest you implement the throttle system to stop this ...

You can delete the .htaccess file in the admincp folder - that will stop this from happening as well

This would most certainly be htaccess server side authentication.

You should go into your hosting control panel and look for something called password protect directories, or something similar....

vB5 still doesn't support paid subscriptions AFAIK, so they probably won't be carried over just yet. Best to check though.
