There's one thing missing though. The way you did it, people can have opening {B}s but no closing {/B}s....

The file isn't CHModed properly. You have to CHMod a file to at least 666 before PHP can write to it.

The one thing you could do is have it copy the file to a non .php file temporarily, read the file, then delete it.

I've been trying to impliment a BBCode type system into my news script. However, php.net's explanation of preg_replace is quite horrible. Can anyone here explain it more simple?

Why exactly would you want the statement to be delayed? Most often, browsers take a rusty chainsaw to pages with incomplete HTML. However, if you do, remember to flush() before you sleep().
