I hope that vB3 will ship with a very basic template set that allows building up rather than having to strip out. Nearly every template for our site our modified, largely to strip out the vB-look code....

It may make sense that it is not "public" which is what you asked, but that doesn't mean that you can't share your copy with someone working with or for you. That's not how copyright protection...

vBulletin appears to equate the last 1000 days with forever, such as when showing threads in a forum from "the beginning" and in the admin panel, when setting default thread view, 1000 is noted...
