O, for crying out-loud, I had *already* upgraded to 3.0.9!! A week or so back, when there were intermediate fixes for 3.0.8. Now, with the announement of 3.5.0, I had completely forgotten that I already...Last edited by asarian; Fri 7 Oct '05, 5:12am.

No, seriously, ALL files have been uploaded/overwritten. This is a procedure I have done many times before, and always without a problem.

I have seen this error before, actually; but it is usually associated with server config error (not the kind upgrading vB could cause), or a permission problem after all. Or "nobody" is no longer...

Are you saying it worked BEFORE you upgraded? In that case, you can rule out any number of permission problems. Also, what is your sendmail_path exactly? Mine is something like:
