That sounds more likely cause. It may also explain why it's only apparent on OS X. Perhaps one of the common web fonts installed with OS X has subtle differences from the Windows version. I don't see...

You don't need the Google Toolbar to run the Sun Java JRE, but it's bundled in the download and requires unchecking a box to prevent the install. There's dozens of similar examples out there....

I saw the same problem with the anti-aliasing on XP. Vista doesn't seem to have the problem though.

Actually you can't, softlayer don't offer a server class chassis, nor do they offer the SLA, Legato backup or even a chassis that holds 6 drives.
