Datastore keeps getting edited, help locating

I have went threw the how tos and i am still not found my issue.. I know for sure i didnt' have the install folder on the server. I don't have new admins. No new plug in etc. I installed a mod that emails...

Sorry old deal but i am using 4.2 and when i use, Navigation Manager i get an error when i try to create a link in that section, can you not add links out of that section?

Got the software installed but its not showing so well.

me removing the .. and puting in core/attachment1 fixed that. Now i have another issue....

Well i have the folder there too with all my data and its all 777 all folders reclusivly.

is whats in my db i 777 and chmod it reclusive and it still did not work

Well i was running 3.8.5 and i updated the server software to mysql 5.5 php stayed at 5.3.18
now my issue is i can't get to the /forum where my site resided. its forwarding me to my 404 page ...
