Registered users can view mod options in 'What's new'

After upgrading to 4.0.2, in 'What's new':

1. All registered users can view the moderation options. However, they can't perform any mod actions, but why should they be allowed

Lynne, I've just realised that images in blogs won't show only to unregistered users, in other browsers. When they log in, they can view the images properly. Any thoughts on that?

OK, I see the 'Not found' page as well. But if there was a permissions problem, pictures would not show globally, not only in blogs. What else would you propose I should check, apart from the permissions...

Could anyone please provide some ignorant-friendly hints on what exactly are trackbacks / pingbacks? Are they supposed to work as an inter-vbulletin linking system, or do they refer to external blogs?...

Nope, it's not. Again, if you visit http://www.rembetiko.gr/forums/blog.php you will notice that there are 2 featured entries. The second one has not been set by me or any other admin, and it's not showing...

I have set a featured blog entry, via the admincp, with blogid=7. The entry shows OK, but there is another entry with blogid=9, also appearing as 'featured', although I have not set it in the admincp....

Yes, they are indeed but they still see the widget blank. In fact, they see all the 'General Search' widgets blank.

Problem No 1: Although I have set the permissions correctly, unregistered users, registered users and moderators see a blank 'Recent Forum Posts' widget, while admins and Super Mods can view it normally?...
