got the same error here Mike... and the error was about unable to add stuff to the template table (I think) because the 'type' field did not exist... sorry, I closed the page already

ok, Ijust tried with going to upgrade1.php instead of upgrade.php, and t started the upgrade process correctly, but I got another error at step 28/42:
mysql error: Duplicate entry 'open_menu--1-0'...
