I wasn't concerned about Steve specifically, just privacy in general. Your idea is a good one, if a problem came up that I could not resolve on my own. In general, however, I prefer to have someone explain...

I've never seen any kind of backup tool offered by Yahoo Groups itself. They don't want to make it easy to move messages to other software. If you've seen such a tool, I'd love to know about it.

Are these attachments to posts, or are they avatars stored in the attachments directory? SMF stores avatars in the attachments directory by default. They weren't moved over at all with the first version...

paid subscriptions?
I'm looking at the "paid subscriptions" feature. I can't see from the interface how certain things work, and the documentation on it is virtually nonexistant. (Related to this... Is anyone at...

How do I get a mail backup file from the group? Do you have a link to a utility that creates this? The only one I know of is here:

Is JavaScript required?
Does v3.5 require that JavaScript be enabled in the browser? Or does it just add some features if it is.
Same question re v3.0.7...?

Okay, then the file list is the same - no legacy files from 3.0 that need to be deleted? Or does the upgrade script take care of that?
All I've added are a few smilies. I'll upload the new...

upgrade instructions?
The announcement for v3.5 Beta 4 says to "use installation instructions from previous betas" but gives no link. I looked at the announcements of all previous betas, and still found no installation...

Setting up a temporary username and password is a good idea, and if it were a public board I might do that. But this is a support forum and I want to protect my members' privacy. There are other ways...

The information you requested was to log into my server as an administrator with all privileges. I just have to believe it's possible to answer my questions without taking over my system.

This is all pretty pointless. I've given you full information. If you can't give me an answer in the forum, you won't be able to answer in a support ticket.
Does vBulletin have support tiers...
