What happens to pruned user posts?

In a company setting (i.e. a private company board), how should one handle departing employees? These are in most cases members who have posted information that remains valuable.

Apologies if I missed this somewhere, but is there any way to search for posts created in the past x days (or weeks, or months)?

This would be a date-only search, with no reference post...

A few quick questions:

1. Is there any way (or a hack) that allows a user to select and copy a short, permanent link to a individual post? For examples, see "weblog"...
