You can try to contact phpbbplanet, but I wouldn't expect anything. From what I read there, it looks like you'll come away with nothing and need to start fresh whenever you decide to host your own board....

If you fear the mass email may fail, it would be a good idea to change the Guest Welcome phrase as well (see attached). The Admin CP allows you to customize this phrase as well as all other phrases....

It's reasonably easy but will take some time. Just be patient with the initial install, and then take your time importing. Read all of the available documentation thoroughly. I just converted from phpBB3...

Unfortunately, there's no tool currently available to revert back to phpBB2. I do appreciate your response though!
