This is a very time and resource consuming process and will most likely hang your browser - or your sql server will time out. I'd find a terminal way to go about it.

I experienced the same issue as you around 4 million posts. Fulltext search hits its limitations rather soon.

Time for a sphinx search, crazy fast and very, very scalable. Contact TECK (yqed.com)...

Are you using an ad agency that serves 3rd party ads? It may be one of their trackers.

Our forums (6 mil posts, 110k+ members) can no longer be searched for IPs. I suppose the amount of IP info stored in the tables...
