if new post/thread email notification is enabled for a forum, creating a new thread or replying to an existing thread is very slow to run.... once the email notification is disabled...

found this in the server's php.ini:

open_basedir = ".;sys:/tmp"

could i edit that to fix the issue?

hmmm, that's what ships with netware 6.5...

funny thing is on the same server i had upgraded to 3/rc 4 from 2.x with no trouble, and don't reckon any changes have been made since...

fyi/head's up: am working on a new bulletin board and in some early tests have seen the registration emails get put into the bulkmail folder of yahoo! email accounts with spamguard... maybe due to subject?...
