Looks like using tools to reset something worked.... for now.

I upgraded to 4.3 and still it won't login to the back end. I tried everything, even disabling addons.

I disabled ajax and that seems to be working. Not a great fix but at least it's working. Good catch Paul - just looked and it's 4.2.2b4. Perhaps the update may help. Thanks.

Cannot login to back end admincp
Well, the colors look much nicer than the deathly bland ones before. That's a welcome change.
I'm still using vBulletin 4. Unfortunately with PHP 5.4 enabled I can't login to the back end...

Thanks Mark - nothing worked except to downgrade PHP back to 5.3. I had intermittent issues with PHP 5.4 that cropped up and this is the only remedy that worked for now. I'll need to move to PHP 5.4 shortly...

My navbar_link template appears standard. The only way this will work is to put in a custom URL for the forum as www.site.tld/forums/index because the software tacks on a ".php" onto the end....

Another solution, works even better.
$this->script = "http://www.yoursite.tld/forums/";

OK - That is in class_friendly_url.php -- and there is code that needs to be changed. Don't know if it is a bug but it is on my site in standard breadcrumbs.

Nope - not working. And I'm finding that posts are suddenly "getting stuck." I'll reply and then I'll get a blank page. I'll back out and go to the thread and see that there is a double post....

Great Idea, Mark, but didn't work. Here's the issue. It must be in the navbar_link template:
<vb:if condition="$show['breadcrumb']">
<li class="navbit"><a...

1. The forumhome URL setting is empty.
2. The navbar is styled - but whatever was done worked with 4.2.2 PL1. I upgraded because I thought it was supposed to stop the double posting issue...

I just added that 10 minutes ago and saw it -- but with this prevent double posting or will it just suppress error messages?

As per the latest version I can see - 4.2.2 PL4 the latest. Uploaded all files, overwrite.

Double Posting Problem again
I remembered not upgrading to PHP 5.4 because vBulletin 4 would double post. I was told this was fixed. However I'm getting massive double posting issues again and I also had to suppress PHP errors as...

Upgrade - now breadcrumb goes to wrong forum URL
This may have to do with legacy work done from way back in 4.0.x. I overwrote all files with the latest vBulletin 4 package. Take a look at the navigation.

Any directory to the forum modules works
Here's a good one. I can't figure out why adding an extra directory to the calendar results in a URL that works. There is nothing in my .htaccess that would allow this nor does it make any logical sense....

Wayne - thanks for the reply. I figured out what happened. I changed my email address here in the forum to a different one that I'm now using to administrate accounts too so that they will receive notifications...
