Having loads of problems with error 1040 (too many connections) on shared server.

I've edited config.php to turn OFF pconnections, question is do i need to restart MySQL...

Thanks freddie, but I went for the option of running the upgrade scripts as in Really messed up upgrade!! .

Seems I had really messed up the install...

I managed to run upgrade 4 thru to 10 then upgrade 11 failed with the same error as "All of a sudden I am getting these errors... " by F5Hosting

After more testing it looks like there is something missing in the old database that was restored.

Can some one tell me how to alter the database to add this column:-

Recently upgraded as i changed servers, so did fresh install. Used dump of database to restore. Worked ok but the Control Panel wouldnt work, so had to use :-

ALTER TABLE adminlog ADD ipaddress...

Many thanks, its fixed now. The problem that was my host hadnt given me ALTER privileges (weird?), but now they have and the ALTER cmmand you gave me worked. I can now log onto the Admin CP.

1) I checked config.php and all is correct there

2) The moderator CP works fine, just the admin CP thats seems to have the problem

If worse comes to worse, would a re-install...

I've just moved servers, so did new install of latest version and used a dump of the old database to transfer to new installation.

Can view database fine, but cant log...

I do have mysql installed (MySQLRelease 3.22.32-1 ).

But install script fails to connect. I shall do some more tests and post a new topic when i have more deatils.
