Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, this is 3.6.2. As noted in my post, I wiped all vB files on the server and uploaded all new ones. Just to be sure I have just done this again. Did not help.

HiveMail has *not* disappeared. Apparently Apache decided to die and cPanel failed to notify me about it. It's restarted now and everything should be functioning normally.

I would ask your host how the backup is performed. If it makes a copy somewhere of all the files/directories that comprise your databases, then that is quite sufficient. If however they use a PHP script...
