SOLVED! It was the index.php file wreaking havoc
The problem was the index.php file in the root folder.
Regs had me rename it to index.php.text and the everything's working...

Is there an answer to this problem? The solution in post 2 doesn't work for me. After not finding an answer here, I googled but there are still no answers out there about how to get past the XML portion...

Update: disabled plugins and I am able to login to the cp and the site shows up... the page/template/style is just one enormous hot mess. And the style generator is still all out of whack like I posted...Last edited by chloe; Thu 19 Aug '10, 6:03pm.
