That's a good point as I had been assuming that they were ok given that they are not that big and only take a few seconds to generate. My main backup route now though is every two hours via mysqldump...

The database backup option in AdminCP has the following default path and filename format:

./forumbackup-2ndMarch2007-cfa94.sql

Is it possible to reconfigure the default path...

My solution in the end was to paste the following into the command section of the cron bit of cPanel:

mysqldump --opt -Q -u[USER] -p[PASSWORD] [DATABASENAME] > [FULL PATH TO SAVE FILE...
