Background Image

How do you make the background of certain componetns of a board an image (category background , background, forum)?

When I type the URL to get to my user cp, i get a blank, white screen. I don't even get a chance to log in or anything. The only thing I can think of that is causing this is a hack I recently installed....

On the page where you select an avatar in the user cp, there are the two avatars that they can chose from, and then about 90 columns of empty boxes to the left of them. The boxes are making the page stetch...

Is there a way to make a space or gap between the last forum and the "Who's Online" bar? My forum would look neater if I could achive this.

Do you know how to make it so the locked/unlocked icons can go away only with thr forums that are directories (like at the 2nd URL i gave).

I have seen some vBulletins (take www.vBulletin.org for example) where when you log in or are at the home page it shows you your avatar or a box that says "No Avatar Selected" or "Register"....
