I still don't understand why they stripped the vbcodes out, but they don't parse them as an HTML email. It seems like it would be better to either...

I think you misunderstood me. I don't want them processed, I just don't want them stripped out. For instance,

$bbuserinfo[signature]

will produce

In my case, I trust the person; but we just don't delete any threads. We move them to a hidden forum called purgatory....

A link to the actual post within the thread is now a hack? In 2.0 it was just a simple addition (like I showed above) to the moderator email template.

I'm also wondering how to get it to put the vb codes in the email. Right now if someone uses a [ quote ] as part of a post, it shows up without the vb code in the moderator email.

I know how to get to the moderator email text in phrases, but I don't know the code to use to put a link to the actual post. Currently the moderator email phrase uses this to point to the thread:
