If James replies to this thread anytime soon, he should be able to give you the information on what the XMB importer can do...like sit up, stand, bark

No i'm just joking....but it should be able to do what Cary said.
It would be great if James could respond giving me exact information on what the XMB importer can do as that really is the key for me.

Now that would seal it for me

I really do hope that if I run into problems people will give me a ahnd.
Also, Jelsoft does give refunds at discretion of the management - if for some reason you won't be able to convert your posts (which is about 0.0001% chance with James around ), you can ask for a refund and I'm fairly sure you will get it (surprisingly staff doesn't bite... at first ).

I'm not JamesUS, but I do recall him once asking someone to email a copy of their XMB forum MySQL database for testing if they could import.

Try opening a support ticket and see if he would be willing to test.
        But I'm not JamesUS...

          I ran a test import recently from XMB ( http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...threadid=59039 )

When running the import script in vBulletin you get the following message:

"This importer currently imports users, forums, threads, posts, and private messages. It does NOT import styles or forum/moderator/user permissions and you will need to add these manually after the import is complete"

Can anyone tell me about the members area? What does it include apart from forum converters?

downloading vBulletin, information, documentation, and I think a vBulletin PSD kit.

I purchased vBulletin and have successfully converted from XMB

                          Take a look here - http://forum.cricketweb.net/index.php

One question though - I can't post in any of the How Do I, etc forums here. It just brings up that "you do not have permission page". Why is this?

What I want to do is place an advertising banner at the top of my forum as www.vbforums.com have done. How can I do that?

To be able to post in the support forums you first need to to register for Priority Forum Support. To do this, please go here:

...and enter your email address in one of the boxes. You'll need to have your customer number and password to access that page.
