Before I start, two points:
Firstly I don't know if this question has been asked before. A basic search did not turn up any results.
Secondly, I was not sure whether to ask publicly or to e-mail Jelsoft privately, but I would like an official answer, whether publicly here or privately via e-mail or pm.
Ok, now, onto the question:
I currently have one "owned" license.
I am considering purchasing a second "owned" license.
From what I understand, the agreement states that we can run one copy of vbulletin per license.
My question relates to 'updated' versions of the software. If I buy an 'owned' license as second-hand and the updates period has expired, am I allowed to update the second copy with updates obtained from the first license's subscription to the members' area?
The license doesn't seem to state whether the 'subscription' applies to the 'customer' or the individual license.
Can anyone shed some light on this situation, as I don't want to go against the terms of the software use agreement, but at the same time I don't want to spend more money than I have to (purchasing 2 update area subscriptions unless it is necessary.)
Both of the licenses would be used by myself, so I would assume this is ok, as it does not seem to breach the agreement, but I could very well be wrong.
I hope I have explained the situation well enough. If not, please ask me to clarify any points.
Thanks in advance
Regards,
- Omar
