  • User Access Levels

Hello, our organization is considering purchasing vBulletin and I have a question to help us decide. Is it possible to update a user's level of access once an account is created? Here's the situation:

We'd like to have the follow levels of access set up:

Prospective Students (access to forum A)
Enrolled Students (access to forums A and B)
Alumni Students (access to forums A, B and C)

If a user registers and we assign them 'Prospective Student' access (automatically maybe?) can we later upgrade their account access to 'Enrolled Student' or 'Alumni Student'?

I imagine we'll have most people automatically assigned to 'Prospective Student' level and then we'll upgrade them as they enroll or finish our program and become alumni. How many different levels of access can we have with vBulletin?

    Thanks for any help!

    Regards,

    Michael

Yes, that can be done. When someone signs up they will be put in the bottom group (Prospective Students) automaticity, then you can go in on a case-by-case bases changing people's status around

There is no limit to the amount of groups you have.
