  • Can you simply PASTE an image in a post on vBulletin like you do on Facebook and other apps without attachment?

    1) Can you simply PASTE an image in a post on vBulletin like you do on Facebook and other apps or do you have to necessarily upload it as an attachment?
If not is there a plugin or some of those upgrades by a third party that allows you to do so?
Also is that possible with the mobile app?

    2) Can it be set so that people that post a thread be the owner and lord of that thread in other words can delete any posts within his/her thread and moderate his/her own thread?

    3) Can people block others so that they can't see their threads or posts or reply to threads posted by that person blocking them?

    4) Can you assign a person to be the admin of a sub-forum with complete authority to mod it without being a mod for any other sub-forum? Can this sub-forum admin ban a user form posting in that forum?

What I'm trying to figure out is how close to a self-moderating facebook experience can be had with this software.

    1. Pasting images into posts is not supported at this time.

    2. Blogs allow users to create their own space and moderate it.

    3. Users can be ignored. There posts shouldn't show up after they are ignored. They can do this in their user settings or by clicking the Ignore button on another user's profile. It is one way, the ignored user can still see the other's posts.

    4. You can assign users to moderate individual forum channels in the AdminCP under Channel Management -> Channel Manager.

Uggh... #1 is major for us. Do you expect this to be a feature in future versions?

There is an open issue to add it. Right now, users can drag and drop images over the editor and have them uploaded. They can then use the tools provided in the attachment panel to add different sizes at the cursor location.

So pasting is not supported; but you can upload an image.

I can't upload an image into this thread; but is it only because it's disabled?

As an unlicensed user of these forums, your attachment privileges are limited. This is nothing against you personally but is an anti-spam measure that we implemented years ago. I do believe you can upload attachments in the "Place to test things out" channel.

vBulletin does not support copy and pasting images at this time. There are some technical issues that need to be resolved because I don't think people want a lot of Base64 code in their posts.

vBulletin does support drag and drop uploading of images for all content types. Users with permission to upload images can simply drag them over the editor and drop them in the indicated location.
