    I want to be creative....ONLY

I have Shared but also VPS hosting at Hostgator. And I have my Domain set up. I'm pretty good at Wordpress.
I said all that to say this: inflammatorybreastcancer.org needs a forum for discussion and I installed pHpBB and it was immediately a *big* PITA with updates needed, modifying this and that.
So what I want is to say "MY domain needs a forum, and I need a vendor who hosts, installs and does basic configuration of the forum application and keeps it healthy, unhacked, backed up, and updated. I'm fine with making categories and all that housekeeping. Just need the house BUILT and operational.
Or, if I installed VBulletin on my hosting account, is there a consultant, or service provider who installs, maintains it and configures it on my hosting account? MY hosting provider put their hands up by their ears and walked away saying "We don't mess with the Forums, it's just a one-click install, good luck." And I "get it."
What's the easiest solution for having a forum and just have to worry about running it? Not maintaining it?

It sounds like you would benefit from VBCloud. You could have an address like forum.yourdomain.com and it would be installed and have all necessary updates done automatically. You would still need to create specific forums, set user permissions, clean up any spam that gets past (or appoint moderators to deal with it) but it is as close as you will get without hiring someone to maintain the forum for you.
