  • vBulletin 3.8.7 - IP Logging?

    Hello,

    I have a quick question.

How is user's IP address logged in vB 3.8.7?

When I google, some said it is during registration, last login, and during posting of messages. But that is for the older versions of VB. Is it the same for 3.8.7?

vBulletin 3.8.7 is over a decade old. It is an old supported version of vBulletin. It logs the user's IP when they register and create a post. There is no logging of an IP address when a user logs in.

      Hi Wayne,

Thank you very much for your response.

Last question... So say if a user has posted thousands of posts and he/she happens to use thousands of proxies (hypothetically), all these will be logged?

And the new vBulletin 5... Is the IP logging the same?

      Thank you.

In both VB 3.x and 5.x (and 4.x) every IP address they use for every post they make is logged whether it is the same or different. If they use thousands of proxies than thousands of proxies will be logged.
