Importing from other products into vBulletin (Updated 13 July)

Discus

No moderator has ever given an answer to whether or not a conversion script for Discus would be made available. I know that more than a few have requested this but vB staff have never responded either way.

Could someone please look into this?

It is not available now but we could look into it for the future. Does it have a web site that I can go and look at to read more about it (I tried discus.com but can't get to it)?

However, it appears that they have released [finally] a new version. My interest lies in the 3.1 Pro series in terms of a converter.

Someone awhile ago said they wrote a conversion process to do it over at vb.org but they never came back after that to share.

I'd like to help anyway I can so if you would like some of my files to look at, please let me know.

Import tool or work-around for Matt's?

Does anyone know if it's possible to import posts from Matt's WWWBoard BBS? I've "inherited" a site with just such an old board, carrying about 40,000 posts that need to be kept for searchable archive purposes if nothing else. Getting a fully-functioning thread for reply purposes isn't needed. I just want to switch to V-Bulletin, can the old board, and still have at least the option of viewing the old posts in some form or another.

Thanks for the hard work on UBB 6.3 I got the importer and noted only two errors.

First, PM's cause a No Array() error. Second, Moderators import as Senior Members (in my case, due to post count.)

Yes I did. I got an e-mail from Freddie asking for information and I promptly sent it all.

I am a Discus 4 pro user and would be also interested in a conversion utility.

BUT Discus 4 pro has some features, which I did not find here and this one would be for me mandatory before I would switch:

"reply by e-mail". Every user gets an e-mail-notification of the threads he showed interest in (by his settings-not postings). Onece such an e-mail notification comes in, he can repply by e-mail, without using the original website and the software is putting his reply at the appropriate spot automatically.

Could you please also comment on this?

Secondly I do not like at vB the way at the end of each page is the "scroll for the next 20 postings". Is there a way to have it as just one page and people using only their browser and not this extry button?

We are trying to convert from wwwthreads 5.4 to vb.
I yet have to see a working importer for the old wwwthreads ?

I bought my vb software a while back and have not gotten the support nor a working importer from my old wwwthreads.

The version offered and available for download

- DOES NOT convert passwords !!!!!!!!!!!!!
- DOES NOT convert attachment URLS's

Tech support after working via e-mail back and forth stopped e-mailing me.

The issue remains unresolved.
