Importing from other products into vBulletin (Updated 13 July)

No, not an official one. I think there have been requests for one over at vbulletin.org but I don't think one has been written yet. Check over there.

The last I heard, it was supposed to be ready last week. If you need a beta tester, I will be happy to volunteer!

YaBB, being free and a very good BB, I would have thought Vb would be chompin' at the bit to get an importer up and running to steal those using YaBB..

I say this because I need A Yabb - Vb importer lol

I see that there is no convertor for Yabb--> vB but wondered if anyone knew if there may be one in the future.. I am loathe to make all my members rejoin just because I have updated to a different board..

I don't believe an official YaBB convertor is being worked on. You can ask about an unofficial one at vbulletin.org.

You could improve the Ikonboard 3 converter a bit.
Right now the ibhtml2bb function doesn't convert all
the iBCodes, so I made afterwards a script that runs
through all messages. The speed was about 1000
posts in 20 seconds on my server and it fixed most of
unconverted codes. Here are some of the replace
commands I used.

(Click edit to see the code because vBulletin wants to
parse the vBcode within [code] tags. Bug?)

There were some replace commands as well, because
of the differences between IB3.0.1 and the older beta
versions, but you might not want to support old
versions so I didn't list them.


You could also have mentioned somewhere that you
need to add custom smilies manually to ibhtml2bb().

No, there is no official YaBB importer. And no, there are no immediate plans to develop one.
