vB owner leaving, we want to keep the site running

So this is kinda a tough situation here. When we first bought the forums, we had "Person A" pay for the vB files and "Person B" pay for the hosting.

Now Person A is done with the site, but Person B wants to keep it running (we have full server access and Administrative rights and whatnot). However, Person A, for reasons he won't disclose, won't give us the password to his vB account so that we can renew our 3.8 license at the end of the year. Here are my questions:

1. Is it possible for Person A to cancel our license himself so that we would get terminated?
2. Is it possible to buy another 3.8 license from vB and not a 4.0 license?
3. If we bought a 3.8 license, is it possible just to switch the licenses out and not have to backup and upload the entirety of our forums?

Buy a new license and be done with it. A vB4 license will let you use vB3, you cannot buy a vb3 license.

Once you purchase a vb4 license you will have access to vbulletin 3 & vbulletin 4 package downloads.... From there you simply pick which one you want from radio boxes, download the package & upload the files.

And of course point the new license to the vbulletin site via the vbulletin members panel.

You will need access to the current database to fulfil this one.

You don't need the domain name to do what he is asking to do.. and what's a domain password? The one to lock it?
