I was thinking of purchasing for a local site that I hope will grow.

Do you need to know PHP to work with vBulletin or is it all GUI.

You don't need to know php at all. Here's a guide https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/cont...tall-vbulletin

Another question...What if you have a current Forum running using another software but the database is MySql. Is it difficult to transfer the data over to the new vb tables so the transition would be pretty seemless and without losing any data?

          Cool...Thanks PunchBowl.

I watched some of the video...do you have to purchase the tools that were mentioned in the beginning of the video to get things running. I am a programmer in ASP.NET so the PHP platform is really unfamiliar to me.

          Thanks
