  • Establishing a Private Forum?

I am very new and wondering if v Bulletin will allow me to set up two types of forums. I want to have a forum for the general public, but I also want to have a forum for private members (paid subscription) to enter. Is it possible to do this and is there a tutorial I could watch that would show me how to do it? I have downloaded the free trail of VB 5.

Yes, vBulletin will allow you to have some Forums set as Public and some set to only be viewable by certain usergroups. We have a section in the manual regarding Usergroups & Permissions, but we don't have a video showing how to do this.

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

Thanks Lynne, that is great (and thanks for the password reset). I have downloaded the free trial version as I mentioned. I have been fiddling around and it is taking shape, but I wondered what happens at the end of the free trial period when I purchase the software license and professional install? Do I start again or is there any way I can port those changes into the installation?

You cannot port those changes to your own site.

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...
