My 2.2cents worth (inc 10% GST) vB5 would be a year away at least based on what's in Jira for 4.2, 4.3.

Plus we will stay on 4.x for at least the first 6 months of v5 (but! we would probably buy a early discount license if one is available).

There is no renewal cost. You pay for VB in 2 forms. 1 The classic which is just the forums. 2 The suite which includes the CMS and blogs.
There are no recurring charges. There is however add on goodies IB sells that cost extra. And when VB5 comes out if you want that, you'll have to buy it.

If i were to buy vBulletin 4, what would be the renewal cost? I had been doing Google search and kept getting junk instead of straight forward answer. I also heard vBulletin is famous for hidden cost, so i would like to make sure if there are no other hidden costs. If i were not to renew, it will just prevent me from upgardes, support and downloads thats it?
