I'm thinking of buying a vBulletin license for the classic package. Considering the current prices for one, do they last forever?

Yes its a lifetime license.... It includes all updates for v4 as well..... When version 5 comes out you can continue to use version 4 or can upgrade to v5 (will cost to upgrade)------------------------------------------

vBulletin 5 will be released when it's ready, there is no official date.
Take into consideration that vBulletin 4 still has quite a bit of development life on the road ahead.
