  • Before I buy a few more questions

    Good Evening,
Before I buy this new edition, I have few more questions.

    My current version 4.2.2
    My site: www.report.lu

    Questions,
Can I convert my website to the new version ?
Primarily the CMS must be adopted exactly!

    What can you suggest me

    Thank you

    Stick to 4.2.2

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

You can do a lot with VB 4.x until VB 5.x becomes more stable and great in features and appearance, in a year or so later. If you upgrade now, you will miss many of VB 4.x features. I have a community with over 1.5 million registered user and i am using vb 4.x and i have it customized well with many small but great plugins installed.

If you want to upgrade to vb 5.x and see how you will love it and your community will react to the upgrade, make sure to take a complete backup of your forum, in case you didn't like vb 5.x , you can restore the forum back to how it was originally. Don't upgrade without taking a complete back up.
If you like these ideas, vote for them! (:

You should wait atm. Maintain vB4 until at least vB5.2

You can upgrade to VB 5.x if you want to.

VB 5.1.0 does include the Articles system similar to VB 4.x but it will not be exact. For one thing the VB 4.x system has both sections and categories. In VB 5.x there are only categories. I suggest you click on Articles on this forum in the navbar up top to see what the new Articles look like.
