  • External login system

Hello. We are considering using vBulleting as the forum software for our community, but we would need to integrate its login system with our main already existing one, in the following ways:

    - Users would not register directly in the forum. They would use their main account from our system to access it. Logins in the forum should be validated by our own system.
    - The forum would not have access to the user's passwords, and it might not have access to their mail addresses, either.
    - Both systems might reside in different physical machines, with no direct database communication between them.
    - All options regarding password change, email change, and the like should be disabled or redirected to our main site.

I'd like to know if vBulletin supports these requirements. And, if it doesn't, how extensive would the modifications need to be?
    Thank you for your help.

These changes are possible with custom code but are NOT supported. It would be pretty extensive to do it as you suggest. Usually people would change their logins to use the vBulletin login system, it is often less work.
