  • vB 5 performance issues

Sometime back I posted a message about poor performance of vB's site that is using vB 5. Has anything been done in improving the performance issues in vB 5 yet?

Further, when are Articles going to be included in vB 5 ? Why were they removed whent they already existed in vB 4 ? Why could they not just enhance vB 4's Articles?

Also, too many configuration options in vB 4 were overwhelming taking it over a day to configure one installation. Was anything done to minize these options to keep it simple in vB 5 ?

They are included now. (Alpha version)

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

significant progress has been made in making vBulletin 5 perform better, I don't think anyone can say that we're done yet, we're always going to be doing our best to make it better when and where we can.

The CMS was rewritten for 5, and it is now part of 5.1.x and beyond, which is in alpha.

Has configuration/admin panel been made any simpler in vB 5? Or is it more complicated/overwhelming than vB 4?

A number of configuration options have been moved to the "front end" and are accessed via Page Editor. You can add/edit modules which includes adding/moving forums, creating ads, changing the number of posts per page, and the like.

The Admin CP remains but a number of options have been removed. Some have been updated for VB5 vernacular - such as "forum manager" is now "channel manager" as VB5 uses channels, not forums.

widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
