My current flat file wwwboard-like(netbula.com) forum creates about 900 posts a month which takes up about 5 megs(for each post, a html file is generated). How much room does 1000 posts take in vbulletin? TIA.

Obviously this really depends on the messages themselves and whether or not there are files attached. Nonetheless, my forum has over 27,000 messages and the database is around 40 Mb. You can do the math.

That works out to about 700 posts per meg! Are attachments stored in the db or on disc?

In the database, which is in turn stored on the disc.
