Hi, we run a multilingual website, which currently has English, Spanish and German, we may add French,Russian and Italian shortly. We want to purchase VBulletin forum. I can't find information regarding multilingual installation. Can you please advise, if it will be possible to use three or more languages on one forum. As our site is already multilingual, we want our forum to be the same. For example, if customer will switch language at the top of our website, then all navigation and content will be presented in the chosen language. We want to create our forum in a similar manner, is it possible? If so, please advise where can I see how to do it.

Thank you for your reply. It is great that it is planned for the future, but I can't wait. We need to buy and set up forum by 01/04/2013. We need to decide which forum to buy and customise(VBulletin, IPB or any other), but we need to do it in 3 languages to start with.
Can you please advise if there are any solutions at the minute. If I install an unofficial language packs at the minute, what would be translated. I just want to be sure that if a user comes from French section of our site to the forum, everything there will be in French and so on. There will be an option to switch a language at the top of the page.
I don't want to have an option, as I have seen on other forums, where main tabs are in English, but content is in different languages, it all have to be separated.
We want to have a structure:
www . mysite . com/forum/en
www. mysite. com/forum/de
www. mysite. com/forum/sp
Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

How about using a url like this http://www.myforum.net/forum.php?langid=1
This is a standard VB option.
Not sure if this is what your want but it gives the user a dedicated url that displays the forum in a certain language.

Thank you DF031. Can you please advise how to do it. Would I need to install language packs? I don't mind how to do it, as long as there is no mess and if someone comes from, lets say French part of website to the forum, he will end up oh the forum which is in French, admin, posts, etc.

-1- Install VB
-2- Install the language packs
-3- Choose language from the list at bottom left of the forum front page
Now you will see the url in the address bar of your browser.
I have no idea how this will work in VB5 (but that is still in beta and should not be used on a live forum) but it works ok in a VB 4.2 forum.

by DemOnstarIt is a very difficult task to help a person when the language is something other than a common language of which the majority of people understand.
