Hey guys, I am looking to soon purchase a vbulletin forum.
Now, I am currently using proboards but feel vbulletin is better in every way, and now the community is getting bigger, it is a good time to make the move.
Now, some nooby questions, so please bare with me!

So price wise, it's a $195 one off purchase, with presumably extra money to pay yearly? Yes or no?
Also, is this forever, or will it run out over a period of time?
When I go to buy it, can I pay by paypal?
When entering the URL, will it have vbulletin in it, such as www.example.vbulletin.com or could I just get www.example.com?
Can I link a domain I have purchased to the forum?
Do I need any hosting or anything else with the forum, or just the license?
How easy is it for quite a noob, to alter things on the forum?
Coming from proboards, codes were easy to copy and paste into 'headers and footers', what's the deal with vbulletin, I presume you don't use codes?
Am I right in thinking you download things?
Do I need lots of space on my computer to do so?
Do I need to download the forum, or is it a easy set-up?
That's about all for now, to your relief.
    Thank you!

One off payment, you can put any URL you want,Domain name is up to you,you need hosting, altering the set up and appearance is simple, you do download data, you do not need large memory capacity on your comp the server provides it, if you are lucky you may find one already set up and for sale...My signature is interesting.

      Cheers Josiah

So how do I find more out about hosting and how much does it tend to cost?

There are many hosts to choose from and the cost is negligable, what do you think of my signature ?

Not sure I really want to take on either of the forums, as they both have solid communities and what I want the forum for, is a completely different hobby.

The h.a.m. one is new , I would wipe all the content off so you would have a clear Forum, you enter your own Forum name Etc, all the hard work is done.

I'd prefer to have my own license to be honest, instead of using someone elses, because you could just delete everything on it, and I don't know you in real life. Thanks for the help though.

I don't think you understand the procedure....

I / we have to have the transfer sanctioned by vB, you then have the ONLY access to the licence details and ALL PASSWORDS to vB and the Forum, no one else including me can edit anything, it is not a joint licence or Forum, it would be entirely yours.

Ok, you got MSN? Would be better to speak over that then spread my noobiness over the internet.
