Virtual Assistants for creating and operating a forum?

I want to have a vBulletin forum created for me. I am a non-techie, so I'm looking for someone to do this for me.

I understand the need for buying a domain name, hosting, etc., as I have some small websites I built as a hobby (using xsitepro2) that are hosted at Hostgator.

What I need to know is that once the vBulletin forum is live, what is entailed with operating it and would I need regular help from someone to do so?

Does it matter is this help is local or does a remote virtual assistant work just as well? Are there communities of virual assistants that work on these forums on an hourly basis, etc?

As you can see, I don't know what I don't know about running a creating and operating a forum. This forum will not be for commercial purposes, rather it is for a large group of military friends and acquantances to use and stay connected with other. As such, I just want to be able to participate and enjoy the forum, and should a technical issue come up be able to alert someone who can quickly handle the problem.

Whether you need any help will depend entirelyt on how busy your site gets. If it's small enough (and the members behave!), the you should be OK on your own.

If you want to have someone else help you, the only advice I'd give is that you make sure that you know them and that you can trust them. Only give them access to what they NEED to have.
