  • Nested Forum Replies

Hello! I was wondering if there's a way to have replies within forums to be nested.

    An example:

    Another example would be:

I find that it's more appealing to the user and also is more logical.

This is a make or break it decision on vBulletin for me.

    Is this possible?

    Try on this forum:
Settings > General Settings > Thread Display Mode

vB5 is unequivocally the best forum software, but not yet...

No, this displays one message at a time, rather than in a nested format as above. Unless I'm being dense.

Sorry, there is no function to do this. This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

That's not a simple code change either so I doubt, realistically, that you're going to be able to pull that one off.

Would Require a plugin, which counts post numbers and modifies the template. Possibly modifying the templatecache on the fly would do it. But ya, would require some coding effort.
