3.x License Transfer Questions

I am purchasing a website currently running a 3.x license. I understand that it is VBulletin's policy to not allow transferring an expired license.

If the seller signs up for the 3 month maintenance pack, will he be allowed to transfer the license as it is now active again?

More generally how do Licenses work with 3.x? Are they owned outright, and thus we are still allowed to run the software, only no support/updates will be offered once it is showing as expired? Is this correct?

That is not true, the current license transfer policy allows any license to be transfered once, assuming none of the old restrictions are in place ( transfered within 1 year, or has been transfered before under the new terms).

Owned license allow you to run any versions of vBulletin you can download from the members area. If you need to check if a license is valid, ask for the licenseid and we can verify if its transferable.
