    You sure you can't set a forum to be searchable or not? I thought you could.

      Well, yes actually. You've always been able to search an individual forum. And "Search This Forum" has always been an option in each individual subforum.

        Isn't he just asking about subdomains?

        Separating content and forum styles by using subforums and forumdisplay links within a single domain is allowed because that functionality is built-in to vBulletin.
