    vB Forum and CMS network

    Hello
i'm Italian, so sorry for my bad english.
I decided to create a vb. forum network in my site in this way
mysite.com <- vb cms home page, with news about all portal in my site
example1.mysite.com <- vb cms about a specific topic
example2.mysite.com <- vb cms about another topic
    forum.mysite.com <- my vb 4.x forum
example3.mysite.com <- a forum of one of my vbforum, for exmple mysite.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=1 -> example3.mysite.com, and mysite.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3 -> example3.mysite.com/showthread.php?t=3, but last topics and number of Threads and posts must be displayed in forum.mysite.com, and users online on example3.mysite.com must be seen in forum.mysite.com user list too.

    How do i do it?
If i use just a database, how many licenses must i buy?

This is the answer of support ticket system:

ME: Ok, but if i realize the project i described , how many licenses i need to buy?
I think is a question you can answer.

TICKET: If you use URL rewrite rules and sub-domains, you could do this with one installation of the software which would only need one license.

Note the marked text. That is not the same as vBCerberus punchbowl linked. If you are using vBCerberus, you'll need one license per domain/subdomain.

Also, vBCerberus currently doesn't support different cms per (sub)domain atm. But it is in the works afaik. Same with blog.

            Ok.
vBCerberus is still in beta stage so i'll wait, and now i edit my plans.
Is it possibile that a forum is in a subdomin? For example, i have a cars forum and i create the "Ferrari" category, but if someone visit my forum and click "Ferrari", he is redirected in ferrari.mysite.com and here he find "Ferrari" forum threads, but searches, cookies and users online are the same of mysite.com/forum.
In this way there is one vbforum, but a category is in a subdomain.

sure. just redirect your subdomain to that part of your forum. you can do it from cpanel or do it using htaccess.
