Blocking Spam

Hi,

I'm seriously thinking about adding a forum to my site, but am not sure of which forum to go with. One key-point I'm really concerned with is being able to block spammers from posting on my forum, cause when I first start I won't have any moderators except me, and I won't be able to constantly monitor the site.

So does vB have such an option ? If so, how exactly does it work, and which vB versions have the option implemented within them ?

vBulletin can stop spam but it will never be 100%. With some add-ons you can get close.

Are such add-ons for free?
And what features are built-in within vB that will stop spam? Other than the CAPTCHA field when new users are signing up?

You can find the add-ons at vBulletin.org there is one called stopforumspam that good and you can make usergroups so that some one that signs on to your forum has no PM and see only a few forums from there you can give them more rights.
