    As I understand it:

vBPortal 2.x is completely free to use. It is of final quality, and not sure which versions of vB it works on.

vBPortal 3.x is currently under development. To use it you need to pay a tiny fee, but when it is finished it will be free just like the earlier version.

I understand that developers would like to see something for their efforts in return. But I see it posted everywhere as 'free' and when browsing the site, it suddenly says they'd like a fee. Little bit weird, but understandable.

Maybe it is me, but.. If it is in a beta stage now, then it is worth waiting for the final to come out. And understanding that it is free, it is worth the wait.

Thank you for the swift reply.

I wish to use a forum portal myself. (free one)

When I tried to download it from phpportals.com is says:

vbPortal 3.0 beta release pr7.1 for beta testing purposes only.

But I am not going to use it for testing, but as a portal. And I think many others do so to.

    VPortal Q...

    Hi,

Planning on buying VBulletin over the next day or so. Is the Portal software free, or a chargable extra?

    Cheers.
